Almond milk has become a hot new item on the grocery store shelves, but have you ever read the ingredients on the container? Store-bought almond milk is laced with chemicals and preservatives that can wreak havoc on your body! I’m always amazed that even ‘organic’ almond milk companies are allowed to add carrageenan into their milk which has been known to cause inflammation throughout the body. Whenever I look at a label I make sure I have heard of every ingredient. I searched high and low at retail stores, but struggled to find an almond milk I was willing to put into my body, which is why I felt inspired to create my own almond milk line.
Bamboo’s almond milk base is composed of two ingredients: filtered water and organic almonds. We then infuse the base of our milk into different flavors using only organic produce. You might also notice our milks have a short shelf life and MUST stay cold to prevent them from going sour. This is how ALL milk should be but because of the chemicals and preservatives put into store-bought almond milks you will find it on shelves and with a shelf life of several months. This is of course completely unnatural and a good indicator that you should steer clear!
The moral of the story is drink pure, alkalizing, raw, sprouted almond milk from Bamboo or make your own at home!
